COVID 19 Clinic Updates
The Points North Family Health Team/Machin Medical Clinic wants to thank our patients for their patience and understanding during these times as we continue to provide care through in person and phone appointments.
We apologize if you feel rushed during your in person visit. In the interest of your health and Ministry of Health guidance, we are minimizing time in clinic to reduce risk of exposure.
Prolonged contact greater than 15 minutes in small spaces increases the risk of spreading COVID-19.
Please refer to the link for documentation “Management of Cases and Contacts of COVID-19 in Ontario if you would like more information.
Specifically, page 33 (#3 Prolonged Contact)
Management of Cases and Contacts of COVID-19 in Ontario (gov.on.ca)
Your health and safety along with our staff continue to be our priority and we continue to be open for appointments in person or by phone as determined by health care providers.
New to the Points North Family health team is an ONLINE screening tool. This is the screen that we do prior to anyone entering the clinic. To help save us and you time please try to complete this prior to coming for your appointment. It can only be completed the day of your appointment.
Please ensure you wear a mask and wash your hands prior to entering clinic. You must communicate your screening results with the clinic and wait to be told its clear to come in by calling or texting 807-323-3245

COVID links &
Information
Our COVID-19 efforts of staying home and social/physical distancing are working and we are doing a great job, BUT we MUST continue to practice these methods to ensure everyone’s ongoing health and safety and keep our numbers low.
We want to remind you the clinic is open and to ensure you that we are here for you to have access to all your health care needs. Please call the clinic for any appointments, questions or concerns.
Appointments that can be accomplished safely by telephone or a virtual visit will be booked as such. This means that we will be using electronic communications for some patient visits rather than having all patients come into the clinic.
Those patients with needs that are of a more urgent nature and require an in-person visit will be offered this option.
If an in-person appointment is booked for you, the following guidelines will be in place:
1. Please remain in your vehicle and call upon your arrival for your appointment. If you are without transportation please wait outside or in the entry way between the doors, and ensure you are practicing physical distancing from others.
2. Prior to and at arrival for your appointment, you will be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
3. If you have an in-person appointment, you will be required to wear a surgical mask or well fitted equivalent mask while you are at the clinic. PLEASE bring your own surgical mask or well fitted equivalent mask to your scheduled appointment.
4. Perform hand hygiene upon entering and exiting clinic
Only essential visitors (e.g. a parent of young child/patients requiring any type of assistance) will be allowed entrance with a patient
Don’t offer masks to children under the age of two, or individuals who are unable to wear it. For example, if they have a medical condition preventing them from wearing a mask, or they are unable to wear or remove it properly.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO CALL THE CLINIC PRIOR TO COMING IN FOR ANY REASON
227-2675
If you don’t call, you will be asked to leave until you have been screened over the phone.
Please be upfront with any travel or symptoms. We want to keep our community SAFE while still providing you with the health care you need. No matter what your symptoms are, you will receive the appropriate care. However, the manner in which that is carried out is extremely important during this world wide pandemic.
